Dividing Globe artichokes and growing more from seeds
« on: May 01, 2017, 09:42:06 PM »
I have a patch of small globe artichokes that have come up as pups from the old plant. Should I dig up and divide or leave for this year and dig up and replant for the next. I also let them go to seed last season and tried to get them to grow, zero success, does the seed need special treatment, should it be sown now in winter rather than after flowering.

If your weather is still not too cold you can divide them now. I guess that your seed was no good as I have never had any trouble with germination, I sow them in spring.
