I would suggest getting it in a bigger pot, if you can't plant it in the ground; a wider, deeper pot would suit a lemon better. Plant it in a good potting mix and compost. Water it in well, and give it a dose of Seasol. Then mulch it.
It might take some time for the leaves to stop yellowing; perhaps trim off the worst ones to be able to see if it is continuing.

Thank you for your advice, pinefamily. I will repot it tomorrow.

How’d they do for you troppo?

All my pastes (Opalka, speckled roman and ropreco) were looking really good at the start of the season.. then we have had either just over or close to 40oC almost every day since the start of December and they just kept aborting flowers. Had to pull them I’m afraid, however I’ce got some in for a late summer/autumn production so fingers crossed!

The Galina that you sent me were fantastic though! A really tastey cherry, productive  and even handled the heat well. Have a few plants to my old man and he thought it was excellent. Many thanks!

T...here is Arbuznyi... Huge sprawling bush and copious quantities of big slightly flattened fruit. Some, but not all, ribbed.
Havent saved any seed yet but certainly will so let me know if you are in need.
Seems the wrong colour for Arbuznyi. It could be the light, but I can’t see the skin markings either. I grew it some years back and it was definitely a ‘black’ with stripe-like skin markings which do look vaguely watermelonish, hence the name, which means watermelon-like.
Check out the pics on Tania’s web site: http://t.tatianastomatobase.com/wiki/Arbuznyi

Thank you for your comments guys.
Unfortunately, every day more and more leaves are getting yellow and falling off.
I think fertiliser didn’t help, quite the opposite.
